Personal/Social/Emotional Resources

Upon entering the middle school years, students experience a jump in their personal/social/emotional development.   Some students navigate through this time flawlessly, while others may experience changes in thinking and behavior that are out of character, or may lead to potentially serious consequences.   At other times children and families may be thrown into crisis and are unable to cope on their own.   We are here to help.

Students

We will meet with students on a one-time, or short term basis, to assess their needs and provide guidance.   When a student’s needs exceed available services, or the needs are not appropriate to be addressed in the school setting, we can provide referrals to community based services.   Students can initiate a meeting with the counseling department by stopping by Mr. Ploumen’s Counseling office, or by dropping a note in the confidential “Counseling Requests” box in the front office.

Parents

Sometimes parents need support too.  Please contact us if you have concerns about your child’s behaviors or if you would like referrals to more resources.   We are also here to validate the demanding role you play in your child’s life!  Feel free to call us with any of your questions.
